Shamwari Game Reserve

Shamwari Game Reserve, the malaria-free, Five Star private game reserve situated in the Eastern Cape of South Africa, has received numerous international awards, including the World's Leading Conservation Company and Game Reserve for many consecutive years.

Shamwari is situated in the verdant bush along the Bushmans River, halfway between Port Elizabeth and Grahamstown, a pleasant drive from Cape Town, forming a natural wildlife extension to the famous Garden Route.



Luxury accommodation is offered in 6 different lodges on the reserve.

Long Lee Manor, offers a distinctive Colonial experience in a restored Edwardian Manor house that also boasts a spa. Bushmans River Lodge is a unique historical site with its 4 suites decorated in an artistic African theme.

Riverdene Lodge is a restored settler's lodge with 9 en-suites all with air- conditioning, Satellite TV, telephone and small lounge area.

The ethnically decorated Lobengula Lodge with its thatched roof is tucked deep in the valley bushveld offering 12 guests a tranquil, luxurious and exclusive getaway, a small gym and a spa.

Bayethe Lodge is a 5- star, luxury lodge comprising of 9 tented suites. A magnificent bushveld-type lodge made of stonewalls and thatch, accommodates the lounge, dining room, an outdoor banquet boma, swimming pool and viewing deck overlooking the Buffalo River.



Eagles Crag has 9 detached suites, each with private deck and plunge pool. The lodge has a dining deck and outdoor boma area, a spa and large lounge. Shamwari's highly trained game rangers will accompany you on morning and evening game drives where amongst other things, they will introduce you to current research and conservation projects.
