Port Elizabeth Golf Course, commonly known as "The Hill", was founded in 1890 and is one of South Africa's oldest golf clubs. Great efforts have been made in recent years to improve the condition and grooming of the course, and the results have been very pleasing. The club hosted the South African Amateur Championship in 1990

Since the upgrade, the course has become an excellent layout and is maintained in fine condition year round. This golf course is a fairly flat parklands course with water hazards at holes 2, 8 and 17. Indigenous bush as well as Pine and Eucalyptus trees line the fairways.

It is a thriving golf club with some 1 600 members, and the emphasis is placed on good food and entertainment as well as golf. There are five bars in operation while a popular a la carte dining facility operates on Friday evenings.

Port Elizabeth is known as the 'Friendly City' and this is certainly true for the members of this club. Visitors are warmly welcomed here. We have a soft spot for this great golf club as our Tour Organiser is both a former Captain and Club Champion of the Port Elizabeth Golf Club.

Signature Hole: The 8th, a par 5 dogleg around a lake is an exciting hole that challenges you,  when the  south westerly wind blows, to 'go for it across the water'. It is a daunting challenge that will reward the brave and well struck shot - but a watery grave awaits a miss hit.
